I thought it would be

A mixture of addiction and chaos

A strange display to say the least.

Sobriety
At the edge of the horizon

Which came first--dynamic or static?
Bad dreams or bad eating habits?
Medicine or mad hatters, with answers
To all of the questions we shouldn't even ask?
We're spiritual misfits,
Misguided

One that wasn't only built for that lonely meaning.

Mad hatters or medicine--is there a difference?
Is there any way we can pay to take the pain away?
Acknowledged follies and acquitted innocence are opposites, but

Attention Deficit

History repeats--
You see a fool keeps singing the same tune.
And mystery retreats
Until the fool's got nothing to say.

Anything's the matter and everything's up for grabs,
Attention deficit becomes the best attention-getter.
Nothing like the present to bitch about the past.
You'll never find anything better.

People are misunderstanding people
underestimating everything.
And I'm not misunderstood--how can I be
When nobody is listening?
